Impossible to find. In the past few weeks as I get closer to the end of my project to illustrate all 265 Toyota model variations sold in the US, I've run into a number of models that just didn't sell well and weren't deemed collectable enough to survive the decades. It's a bit sad, but I suppose it's Darwinism in action. This Corolla Tercel sedan is one of those cars and after spending over an hour scouring Instagram for a single owner of this model, I gave up.
Number 221 in my quest to illustrate every Toyota model ever sold in the US. Japan resident @akio0530's Toyota Windom was purchased before Lexus existed in its home country, but is identical to the Lexus ES330 here in the states.
Working on a side project with some other artists. We chose a movie that each of us had to choose a car from. This Reliant was just an extra in a scene about thirty minutes into Die Hard 3. You would almost miss it unless you were looking hard.
It's official. @mfxn0tserp's LS430 is the hottst VIP build in Hawaii. Super Street has decreed it so. As a former LS400 owner and a future LS460 owner, this kouki UCF30 tingles my jealousy nerve. And now he's building a lifted 4Runner and documenting the progress on his Instagram account. I'm gonna follow along.
Number 213 in my quest to illustrate every Toyota, Lexus and Scion ever sold in the US. Just seven Lexii left on my list after completing @mattmatuszak_sucks's second-gen ES. I've always thought that this was by far the most handsome early Lexus design and Matt isn't standing still... I like his third-gen front bumper conversion, football-lace-style!
Last week @booby1178 won the Sneak Peek and earned a free illustration of his beautiful C280. You could win your own art by guessing at the daily Sneak Peek showing a clue of the following day's illustration. Can't seem to win? My $100 commission fee includes a high-quality photo print suitable for framing (up to 13x19" / US S&H inc). Check my bio for more info.
Eight Lexus model variants left to illustrate now that I've finished @andynotwarhol_'s ES250. I usually choose modified cars to draw, but there just aren't that many first-generation ESs to choose from so I went with the cleanest one I could find.
The second winner this week! Want your car here? Just play along with my Sneak Peek game where I post a small portion of the next day's illustration every morning. If you can correctly guess the model five times then you get your car drawn. Today we celebrate the third-generation Altima of @vutran_.
